I understand but it seems like there are too many major and minor levels I counted 38 levels At that point the chart will be too busy with lines covering up the chart I think it should be just just one major and one minor for each support/resistance or maybe label them major1 2 3 ...etc

How come it's all major support/resistance ? How can you tell which one is more important level ?

Not sure why some traders are getting that message I can place that trade as a calendar without any problems on TOS Are you placing that order in TOS directly or are you using ONE to place the trade ? You could also buy the long side first and after it's filled you sell the short side of course...

I just did a quick experiment and placed a calendar on SPX and I had no problem placing the order So I don't think the margin is the issue at this point Maybe it will be a problem in the future but not at the moment This was just a 1 lot and my account is not big enough to handle a 1 lot naked...

Yes I believe calendars and diagonals are going to be a problem with margin for small accounts for TDA accounts as it's transitions to Schwab I have not traded calendars at all last year so I don't have any first hand experience Just consider it a naked option if you want to trade calendars...

I tried Tradestation many years ago and at that time they were not tracking the margin so you would have to figure out how much you think the margin is Not sure if it's the same way now Good luck figuring out how much is your margin on a calendar Needles to say I closed my account after that...

I understand the problem but as DaveN said there is no easy solution for this so you may have to continue doing it that way There may be other brokers that have good analysis graph but they may also have a platform fee and not sure what is their calendar margin policy
