1 dte iron condor trades as 0 dte

Right, just stick to paper trades for a while just to stay on a safe side. But what do I know? If you understand it and like it then go for it (it = easy money).

    M3 - The best strategy?

Michael, you picked it up exactly where I left it ... 🥸 Status, that Morris/Moric twist was a joke. It doesnt matter if he works for SMB or not. The point is that... you know... I better get inline now. 😷 ;)

1 dte iron condor trades as 0 dte

Status, if you are concerned about PDT learn box trades. To simplify: if you open put spread and want to close it the same day you use calls with the same strikes. If you are careful then you can do plenty of trades around the money, in and out, without triggering PDT. For example you can reopen...

    M3 - The best strategy?

This is really something! My bet is that they have an employee who wants to show his usefulness. There was a guy here, Moric or something, who claimed ownership of third order greeks. Maybe he works for SMB now? Tom, did you get response from Seth yet? I expect some explanation and apology...

    First Sign of Possible Crash

Well, it's confirmed. I was wrong expecting big market drop in mid of February. Luckily I didn't put any 'all in' trades on this conviction. I'm moving again to very short dte trades where concept of not believing what I think is more important than in long dtes. Behind every trade we put on...

    A14 2022

Henri, thanks for sharing experience and congrats on you profit. Impressive. I do not know what A14 is but what I've quoted above seems to be wrong. If it is not - do change broker immediately. :)

    First Sign of Possible Crash

Wayne, what was the time interval before the signal you mentioned occurred in 2008/2011 and how long did lit last? Also did you notice in the past same signal flashing but without any significant market action follow? I see people mentioning doom and gloom signals all the time. I was, and still...

    Time spreads recording

Ah, ok. I sorry about your wife, must bad bad one. Collarbones fractures usually heal quite well. Wish the best both of you. I'm interested in timespreads. I have (yet anoter one) opinion that most traders are 'not quite there', which fact is due to bad or lack of guidance, and wanted to hear...

    Time spreads recording

Hi, on 101 topics I see "Time spreads" listed but no link to recording. Is that still available for watching?

Why am I getting this risk graph ?

What you are doing is playing contango. This is more like a calendar trade than a box. Still those are two different products - correlated but not the same, so some extra risk is involved.

Why am I getting this risk graph ?

It is not a box trade of any kind. You are trading two different products.

    Calendar Modeling into Expiration

DaveN, you are right. "Typical" options software imprints bad picture of time spreads in traders' heads. There is plenty of confusion re simple calendars. There is no need for software like Jim's to get to the essence of those trades but it can help a lot. All imo, ofc :)

    Alternatives to ONE

SteveG, thanks a lot for making this presentation about new software for trading options. It looks good (with caveats). I’m interested in this kind of stuff... Few comments after watching the presentation: Firstly: great coding work. It takes efforts to put such a piece of code together...

    VIX focus

I decided to learn about VIX. I traded around it in the past but not lately. I didn’t even look at at it as I don’t consider VIX to be an ‘universal ‘ volatility metric. I know the basis: SPX up –> VIX down, VIX at 9 is very low, VIX at 90 is very high. VIX 20 is high when coming from 9. Is...

    python gui programming

Tb2018, not sure how universal your advice is but in my case you hit the nail in the head. When starting adventure with coding my plan was to learn coding to use it in trading. When realized how much material is out there to cover, I promptly adjusted my goals to learn only those parts that...

    python gui programming

Hi Cellsee6, I understand that you starting with Python and with coding altogether. There is an intellectual journey ahead and you can stay on it as long as you wish. It can be even lifetime exercise that is destine to remain uncomplicated :D You'll be looking around and trying different...

    Just saw this link

About those MS practices. Just stepped upon a new thing coming to Win world (which is not new at all to the world). Can anybody can come up with a single honest reason for that?

    Just saw this link

Pretty good summary. I don't track MS anymore but what you said lines up with past practices (I just hope that only in the parts you mentioned). Excel was a thing, and still is in offices, where people are familiar with creating variety of spreadsheets. Not VBA, just coloring cells and...

Real-World Success Trading Options In The Long Run?

I think you've selected good traders. I follow neither but from their talks I conclude they know the craft. To bad they are not sharing on the forum. My perspective. Short, but I've talked about this few times already. If you want to be an options trader do not focus on a single strategy, no...

    SPX 0DTE live trading today

Thanks Status1. Wonder what is your conclusion after watching this material. My thoughts. (I played it on high speed so I could miss some important points.) I do not intend to pick on material in this short presentation but rather focus on practicals. Imo: there are none. The only thing that...
