I've been quite slow with emails the last several days and I'd like to explain so you don't wonder what's going on.

On Thursday morning, my wife fell in the bathroom and hit her head and fractured her clavicle (collarbone) and a rib on her left side. She broke rib #9 and #10 on the right side five weeks ago and it was starting to feel much better.

This latest injury took us to the ER naturally but this time she can't really use her left arm. She needs quite a bit of help and our oldest son was visiting for Christmas. Talk about bad timing!

We had another trip yesterday to the Orthopedics clinic and they did better x-rays. They said that Gaby needs surgery, which is scheduled for next Wednesday.

The surgery is postponed until next week.

Gaby was ready for surgery with an IV, heavy pain meds etc all set. Then the surgeon had a conference call with Gaby's Rheumatologist and they agreed that the rheumatology meds would interfere with bone healing. They decided it was best to let the rheumatology meds to pass out of the body, which will happen in a few days, and schedule the surgery for next week. They aren't sure exactly what day but either Wed or Fri.
