2-month swallow
The strategy is to sell verticals on the SPX 2 times a month due to market anomalies
Roughly simplified, the anomalies are as follows:
Turn of the month:
Funds, pension funds, institutional investors etc. mainly invest the new money to be invested at the beginning of the month. This tends to lead to rising prices.
Friday 2 to 3:
Market makers must hedge at the option expiration date on the 3rd Friday of the month. If prices are predominantly rising, this will also lead to a price increase up to Friday within the week before expiry.
Institutional investors often hold very large options positions. In the week before the expiry date, they often try to move shares or indices in price by buying and selling. On the expiry date, including the triplewitchingday, the aim is to achieve favorable prices for them. These purchases and sales, which are based solely on the expiry of the options, often lead to large price movements in the underlying assets and indices in the days before the expiration date.
To benefit from these market anomalies, verticals are sold below the current price, with a limited short expiry of 5 or 8 trading days, which corresponds to approximately 7-13 days expiry (DTE), depending on weekends and holidays.
By selling the verticals, the risk is limited and by placing them below the current price, the hit rate is increased, but this also results in a reduced premium.
Due to seasonality and research, certain months are excluded.
The underlying systems do NOT contain any indicators such as: Supertrend, moving averages, stochastics, overbought/oversold, Bollinger bands etc.
which results in a significantly robust performance that can be proven over many decades.

2-Monats Schwalben
Turn of the month:
Institutionelle Anleger halten oft sehr große Optionen-Positionen.
