Reporting issues resolved. Entries from today were debug posts while debugging the new posting requirements, so are subset of reports. Expect tomorrow to be back to normal.

FYI: I purchased Excel, ONLY to access RTD. I do not open Excel, but only control it as a background task to facilitate RTD access to TOS from Perl. -- It is likely one can do the same in Python, as Jim mentions. -- I needed No-touch operation for automated access.

To my knowledge, RTD service to TOS has ONLY been implemented in the Windows OS versions of Microsoft Excel! However, you would think someone has developed an alternative RTD implementation by now!

Two thoughts: 1) Does the issue also occur with "BID" and "ASK" (as a substitute for "MARK")? -- 2) Does the issue occur if you reduce the refresh rate to say 8 seconds? (to see if the issue is performance of something on you system or internet)

FYI: If you wish more control over RTD, there are a couple settings I use and found to be useful. 1) "ThrottleInterval" (Default value is 2,000, with the units in milliseconds) To only refresh on your command, set to -1 2) "RefreshData' (Command use to force an update at your desired point...

I observe similar issues while creating/modifying RTD links. My solution is to create the links, then save, and re-open, as you seem to have found. If you do not modify the links, the links are reliable.

This thread has many different aspects, making it difficult for me to give each aspect appropriate thought/consideration. My interest in this topic is mostly limited to how to improve my SPX short volatility trading. Which aspect is believed to have greater impact on ones' trading...

I will revise my reference to word "improper" -- Observing the IV as shown is valid for more optimal strike choices for the referenced chain, but comparing to a different chain or time may be problematic.

The greeks are additive (including Vega). But agree with Jim, that adding IV seems improper.

Interesting! Thnx for the clarification. I also checked the "MARK", which was working at the time I checked. (so probably not related to the MARK) I hope you continue to post any anomalies you encounter, as it may help us to figure out what is happening, and perhaps develop more robust solutions.
