0 DTE Iron Condor Results

I changed the way I trade 0 DTE Iron Condors on 6 November 2023 and I thought I'd share my trading results so far:



I was trading 3 condors until 15 November, then went to 4 condors until 1 December. Since the 1st of December, I've average 6 condors per trade. Here's the breakdown for December:



48 trades in 18 trading days = 2.67 trades per trading day.

The accounts I'm trading were using a maximum of 60% of the margin available and were up about +10% in December. Because these were all 0 DTE trades, no positions were held over night.

I'm doing a Round Table on 11 Jan to go over the trading I've been doing.

I'm always open to new ideas and thanks for sharing your trades, Tom.
Results are good. Bit worrisome is fact that average losses exceed avg wins. That means that you need to be decent in catching market direction or figure out how to efficiently net the market. Number of condors suggest the later. If your style does work in broad range of environments it must overcome high friction costs. Looking on final numbers - you are successful. I'm looking forward to learn more details.

Larger losses are the nature of this type of trade imo. The win rate in the upper 70% gives it a positive expectancy.
I like the trade as the stops prevent large losses. If you look at John Einar Sandvand's drawdown, he had two losing months in almost 2-years and the losses were small.

Right. No doubt your data shows it was a profitable trade.
What I'm saying is that expectancy number itself rather doesn't really mean much. Trade can be good or bad regardless of expectancy. The important part would be to see if the trade can uphold good expectancy in broad range of markets.
I'm not familiar with John Einar Sandvand.
Not sure if I can participate in RT presentation but will get to recordings. Looking forward to this.
