copying options trade from ONE

Hello. Is there a way to copy an options trade from ONE to share with someone else? Not having used ONE, it looks like entering trades into ONE is very manual. Is there a screen in the tool to see a list of all the spreads or calls i have entered? Thanks

Olufemi, it looks you are jumping into ONE with both feet. Imo, this is quite important to ask all those questions, even if you don't get all the answers. I believe ONE's team can answer some of those questions for you with great knowledge of the subject.

Copying options chain. No, you can't copy it. Data feed they use is for ONE, not for you. This means you can not freely use the data for your own purposes other than through ONE.
This is my understanding and you should refer to license.
That said, I've seen attempts to build tools to strip data from ONE. Imo, it's not worth the time, when you can purchase data for 'not so much' in relation to what you can accomplish with that data.

ONE does not have a library of trades (structures) for easy entry. Still entering and manipulating options structures in ONE is not that bad. It's actually quite good in comparison to other, similar tools, you just have to learn keyboard shortcats. Ofc, you still can seek to improve their system or to build your own, custommed for your (changing) needs -- but for this you have to learn how to do it for yourself (hand in hand with datafeed) or keep bugging ONE coders to implement changes you desire.

Or you can 'give up the hope' :)

All the best with ONE. Don't let it limit your thinking.

thanks for this though you may have mis-interpreted my question..

So i understand in ToS for example you can copy the trade you entered in raw text form. this will allow me (for example) copy the trade notation and copy it into , say, notepad in the format below;

SOLD -1 VERTICAL XXX 100 (Weeklys) 1 JUN 21 4200/4190 PUT @.90 (example trade)

Not copying the option chain or using the data for anything outside what ONE uses it for whatsoever

i can then share it with someone else for example to show the trade i placed. Is this possible in ONE?

Indeed, I misunderstood. Sorry for that.
There is no 'export' function in ONE where you can simply export your trade to share with others.
There is an import functionality but with limitations.
ONE used to have an option to hook up your copy of ONE to your mentor's ONE. I guess you can share trade this way with another single trader. I've never used this and don't know if it is still available. I suggest contacting ONE directly about this one.

For TOS users, they can send order to TOS and copy from there. Then others can import this trade to ONE. For quick share its pretty complicated method, easier to write it down manually or make a pic of a screen.

thanks a bunch.. for me, when seeing it this way , it helps me to know if i've entered the spread legs correctly..i'll soon jump into a trial to check out if it all works for me, thanks again!

Actually there is an export function in reports but that will export everything not just one trade that you want to look at but from there you can go through it and find the one you are looking for

As far as importing trades it can only import 4 format types (Tastyworks, TOS , IB , OptionsXpress) although
there was a video that Ron Bertino made where he exported a trade from ONE than somehow modified it and import it back as a TOS or Tastyworks file type It was a bit complicated but it can be done

Probably as you said, exporting data from ONE is somehow doable. I mostly work the other way. When testing my back-tester I needed something to compare results to. I had ONE at that time so I created a file in my BT with all trades to feed ONE. It worked but it took about 2.5 h for ONE to digest relatively simple data and the way ONE displayed back then results were beyond usefulness (beside validating BT code).

I do not remember that export function, maybe it's a new feature or I forgot. Exporting trades from ONE to TOS has very limited application as TOS does not deal with historical data in acceptable way (or rather the way I expect). What would be the point?
You rather would like to make your own code to not only extract data from ONE but also analyze that data slightly better than ONE/TOS does.
But if you can do that then... why do you need ONE after all?

I don;t have much experience with other platforms.

The point was to answer the question to the OP about how to copy an option trade to share with someone
This is not a way to export the trade to use it in TOS It's more like a way to fool the program into thinking that it is importing a TOS trade
The main problem is you ONE cannot import it's own data You can copy it to another account but you can't export it and import it back

So the idea is to export the file than use a special conversion file to convert it into a TOS file format than send it to someone and than they could import it as a TOS file

The only problem is that the conversion file is not freely available Might have to contact Ron to get it if it's still available
The link on the video just takes you to his website where you would log in if you are a member but there is no way to become a member so maybe he closed his website or at least I don't see a way to access any information without logging in

Seems I lost the contest...

For sharing files in viable way... I remember there was an option for establishing student-teacher relationship in ONE. I've never used this but it may be an alternative (if still available). If you need sharing with a group... If you really need it... just post an export file from ONE, the one you mentioned I somebody will write a converter. I think I can do it (if you give enough time). If interested it will help if you include different structures/expiration-cycles in that file - i do not know what to expect.
I encourage you do do it yourself ! or at least to try - later you wont be dependent on others to complete such tasks.

I don't need it for myself as I already have ONE and TOS I was just answering a question that was posted for anyone who needs it

Hi everybody! I'd need the convert tool that is mentionned in this Youtube video on importing a ONE export file.

Someone has already written a convert tool program that makes the job of converting ONE Export to thinkorswim. I don't know why the ONE team hasn't already made an option to import its own files! Anyway...

There is certainly someone here who has this converter tool... Please :).!!

I have already contacted Aaron (https://www.ronsplace.ca/) specialised in conversion of CSV files. I He is not aware of that conversion tool. I've also contacted the author of this youtube video, I think it is Ron Bertino, but I didn't get an answer yet.

But good news! I've found a way to export and re-import trades from ONE. I will start a new thread and add a tutorial to show you how.
