I have heard of some members being able to connect locally. This is a great idea!!! It'd be great to meet in person. Of course this is voluntary if you're comfortable sharing your general location.

Hi All, @jpluto and @srk I'm a year late, and so very sorry. For some reason, I didn't get the notification or somehow missed the update. I'd love to meet up with you both, as I do get down to the valley fairly often. Are you still interested in getting together? @jpluto what part of PHX are you in? I have family in Scottsdale and Kierland, and I used to live in Chandler.
 
I help run an options group. The name of our options group is the Silicon Valley Options Group (SVOG). We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a group where we used to meet (pre COVID) in person once a month. Since COVID we have gone to meeting via Zoom and have expanded our group beyond the local area. We have not yet gone back to meeting in person, but hope to do so at some point. For more information, check out our website at svog.org

SVOG is a merger (in 2021) of three option groups each of which had been in existence for 20+ years. I was personally running one of those groups.

We are a 501(c)(3) California non-profit.

To pay for our overhead, we do ask for a $10 donation to attend our meetings. Our group is run totally by volunteers. No one is paid for their work for the group.

Although we do charge to attend live or to have access to a video recording of a meeting, there is a lot of free information available in our Content Library. Slides from all of our presentations are available for free. And there are many recordings that are available for free.

If you wish to attend a meeting or have access to our free content, then you have to do the following. (Note: This is all described in detail on our website.)
  • Create a SVOG account. Instructions are found on our Home page. This is free.
    This gives you access to our Content Library adds you to our email list so that you receive notices of our monthly meetings.
    Please follow the instructions on the website to create an account.
    This includes entering your location (city, state and country).
  • Once you have created an account you will need to Sign In to be able access our Content Library or to register for a meeting. You do not have to Sign In to see a schedule of our upcoming meetings.
  • To register for and to attend a meeting, follow the instructions on the website.
When registering for a meeting, payment is accepted via credit card through Stripe. If for some reason you have a problem paying through Stripe, we can also accept Payment through PayPal or Zelle. However, those payment methods are not automated and take extra time and effort on our part.
