True
Not quite. It is form category of so called 'half truths'
FFP 2 is equivalent of N95.
Indeed this type of mask have 95% effectiveness but this number relates to aerosols. For example painter using spay-gun should wear FFP2 as a minimum. The same for farmers spraying pesticides and other chemicals on your food. In the same fashion those masks are good protection from illnesses which spread via droplets. If you are coughing and sneezing but have to do shopping or go to bank N95 is a good idea but simple hand covering mouth also works.
For non aerosols those masks works ok if particles we are dealing with are big. For example workers cutting stones should wear mask to protect their lungs. Masks also stop (not precise word) some bacteria. For viruses they are ineffective because size of any virus is much, much smaller than mask's pours.
Masks can be worn for short period of time, definitely not all day long. If anybody spray paint full time, he should wear proper respirator with replaceable filters and electric fan providing sufficient ventilation, rather than changing mask every hour.
If a coughing person uses a mask he should not reuse it. I hope I don't have to explain. Viruses that resides on mask surface can penetrate mask in either direction after fluids dries out. Of course, this applies not only to COVID but all other pathogens. By reusing masks people are putting cultures of bacteria in front of their faces (assuming that they are seek).
Many studies focus on aerosol blocking performance of FFP2 are nothing more than expensive quality control procedures. Implying that FFP 2 is 95% effective in COVID protection is false. I bet you can find many studies how save Roundup is.
95% number applies to new and fitted mask (I assume we understand what 'fitted' means). People should know basic facts about masks understand what they can do and what can't, including dangers of using them, to decide for themselves and not be forced by Karens or clueless 'health officials'. Those in US who pay attention know examples of nonsense orders that are issued around here. People should be encouraged to wear masks in some cases but not forced to do so. Yesterday I noticed pregnant women walking with masks on - outside, in full sun...
One more practical advice. Don't wear mask when trading, it clogs your thinking.
