ONE Import from TOS

For the past few weeks, ONE has not been accepting the exported (TD Ameritrade) TOS Account Statement for entry of trade fills. For a while at first, the TOS export .csv file simply did not have any trade history entries. TOS then somewhat fixed this problem and now has trade fills in the exported file, but the export content cannot be modified to match ONE import requirements. Normally the default TOS trade history format can be customized to put data fields in the order required by ONE; at this time, however, TOS ignores a customized trade history layout and only exports trade history in the default format, which ONE will not import. Is anyone else having this problem? I have contacted TOS in Support Chat, and only get the response that they are working on it. What about the Schwab version of TOS; is anyone using it, and do you have the same problem importing into ONE? Thanks!

I talked to technical support yesterday about this issue. The transition to Schwab caused the original problem and the slow response is related to the focus on the Schwab transition. Tech Support said they are aware of the current problem but, again, the transition to Schwab is also causing a slow response to the issue. They had no estimate of when it might be fixed.

Just saw your post, but "yes", this is a terribly inconvenient issue. I have called TOS support twice on this and can't get a "fix date". TraderVue also had an issue and they hounded TOS and have gotten their issue resolved....I have a feeling that ONE is not putting any pressure on TOS to get this done. But I'm not going to renew my ONE if they haven't gotten this fixed when my subscription comes up for renewal.

TOS still has not corrected the export file format issue that is preventing ONE from importing trade history. My TD Ameritrade account has not been transitioned to Schwab yet. Question: is anybody who has a Schwab account and is running Schwab TOS desktop been successful importing trades into ONE? Thanks!

I'm having exactly the same problem described by OP. Talked to TOS they said it's a problem without solution. does not look like there is any kind of rush to fix it.

curious if that other web based platform is able to import properly. I forget the name it's a ONE competitor with a web based platform.

I received an unexpected email from TOS support last week in which they said they are still working on the problem; we'll see if it eventually happens.

Meanwhile, I have again submitted a support ticket to ONE about this issue, and advised them that at least one other competitor (Option Trader's Assistant) already has the capability to import directly from TOS, no export from TOS required. ONE support said to submit a feature request for the TOS API and they would consider it. This response doesn't make sense to me for two reasons: 1) Not having the ability to import filled trades from TOS makes ONE more cumbersome to use, and 2) ONE can presently import directly from Tradier. It looks like ONE doesn't have the resources to handle this, and I suspect that they will not be adding any new capabilities or features; the last update to the beta platform was 5/17/2023. When my ONE subscription comes up for renewal I will probably switch over to OTA. OTA does not have a backtest capability, but I rarely use it so I can do without it.

ONE import of filled orders from TOS is working again, as of the most recent ONE version update (v2.0.78 BETA) :-).

While ONE can import directly from Tradier, I have had issues with trades not being available when I try to import. Restarting ONE sometimes resolves the issue. I have two accounts at Tradier and ONE will sometimes show trades from a different account than the one I selected for import. You also need to import the same day the trade occurred.

My TOS account hasn't migrated to Schwab yet. I can export from TOS filter by date range and symbol and import into ONE. I did have an issue recently where the export format for TOS changed from how I set it up for ONE. I contacted TOS support. This was the solution provided, I've had to do that more than once:

Below are the steps to reset the Thinkorswim Account Statement page. Please follow these steps if you find that your exported file is not displaying properly again.

1. Select the 3 line action menu towards the top right of the platform, below "OnDemand"

2. Select "reset all filters"

3. Change the desired date range and symbol filter

4. Open the Trade History section and click on the gear icon on the far right to customize the columns

5. Select "Restore" > "Load Defaults" > "Ok"

6. Open the customize columns window again and adjust to desired columns

7. Select "Ok"

8. Export to file
