RTD Values Were Not Showing in Excel

I've been running Excel 2007 on a coupla machines -- I like to run legacy version for spreaesheets that I might want to make available to others.
Decided to install Excel 2016 on a Velocity machine to run one of Tom's spreadsheets. Wouldn't display RTD values. Looked online -- many
reports of 2016 not displaying RTD values, but could not find an answer there. So I uninstalled 2016 & installed 2013. Still no
joy. Tried uninstalling & downloaded 2007. STILL NO JOY! (What-th...? I had already returned the nearly-new machine to Velocity once
to fix a memory probllem....Maybe a continuation of that problem......?)

From one online discussion, I took a look at my add-ins -- tos.rtd was showing among the INACTIVE ones....Okay...located that DLL on my hard drive and tried to move it to the active add-in group -- and got a no-can-do error message....Hmmmmmmmmm.........Finally, I sat another machine running RTD okay w/ 2007 side-by-side with the Velocity machine.
Both machines running Win 10 Pro. When I stepped through everything, comparing the locations of the DLLs on both machines, I noted one difference:
thinkorswim was installed on the Velocity machine with ME as the user, while it was installed for all-access on the other (working) machine.
Uninstalled ToS on the Velocity machine, reinstalled it allowing all users to access it, and -- VOILA!..........

Interesting that none of the online discussion threads that I found for RTD problems related to any of my Excel versions -- 2007, 2013 or 2016 -- mentioned that as something
to check. Ah, well, it was only several hours of my life that I'll never get back!

P.S. Reminder: You have to launch ToS and enable Excel data before you launch Excel in order for RTD to work.
P.P.S, Avoid Falcon Trading computers like the PLAGUE!! For nearly $3K I got a Clevo laptop with a battery that lasts 80 mins on a good day., And the
battery cannot be upgraded., Silly me for assuming, rather than asking. But still.........Sheesh!

About the all-access I remember a couple of years ago I had an issue with tos not sure what it was but everything was working fine and one day it stopped working so I contacted TD and they were able to figure it out so I reinstalled it with all users access and it all worked after that

@MarkSWinston, I've also found that if I'm working on other RTD feeds from the same source, in other spreadsheet instances, that my other feeds can stop working. Sometimes, and only some of them... ugh. I know this isn't the problem you described, but it's another case of that feed being a bit sensitive to other activities running alongside of it.

I work with both the IBKR and TDA feeds/API's, and generally keep them running on different machines, as well as doing development separately on each while they are running during market hours. It has saved me a lot of restarts for each of the feeds.

While this is a workaround for me and not a solution, I'm hoping that additional info and perspective might be helpful as you sort through it.
