I was wondering if there is a way to scan for Tesla type stocks
What I am looking for is for the options prices to decay in a more smooth way from ATM similar to SPX or SPY but I am not sure if I can use the scan in TOS to do this

Looking at Tesla today the 21 APR expiration the 165 put has a price of 0.81 cents with a delta of 9 and that is 20 pints lower from ATM
Not sure if this is due to the earnings coming up or not
The IV is 99% of that expiration and the expected move is +/-13 but the further out expirations are in the 60's and 70's so even after the earning it looks like it will stay high
On SPY the same expiration 21 APR the 10 delta is only 7 points down and the price is 0.31 cents so the drop of in price is a lot steeper compared to Tesla

I tried scanning for IV but having high IV does not guarantee that it will have a smooth price decay from ATM
 
I heard about barcharts but I am not sure what to screen for to get the information I want
Any ideas ?
 
I do not know how to screen for exactly what you ask. Barchart offers multiple filters like IV percental, premium, delta, option price, distance from ATM, so maybe you will find what works for you
 
Thanks, I think I found what I was looking for
You mentioned distance from the money so I did a search for that and found % out of the money in TOS than did some more search on that and I found this video
The main ingredient is return on risk the rest is just to narrow down the field
This could be used for cash secured puts to buy a stock at a lower price than sell covered calls on it

One thing that did not work was the volume because all the stocks showed N/A before the market opens even though on the chart there is some price action I guess the options are not trading but even after the open it's a small qty so you would have to wait to run the scan later on in the afternoon to pick up some volume
Actually it already picked up enough volume for the scan by now about 20 min into the trading but it could be left out if the scan is done outside of market hours
