Sheridan Mentoring Administrative Fee

Paul--
I enjoyed your comment. Everyone is, indeed, remorseful at sentencing. I'm sure I'll now be derided over on the SOM thread for even suggesting that he would do anything other than waive the fee.

Nor by me.... You did exactly what you should have done.
Had you and other chose to remain quiet then we all know what would have hapened.
I asked to get my agreement in writing since the true colors have now been shown for all to see.
and if you cant see them then you must be blind.

Hi all.... good to see so many familiar names from SOM. Happy to contribute to this community. Looking forward to the trading group activities.

I am very excited to see this group forming. As many have said, options trading is a very lonely profession, so it will be great to be a part of a group of peers. Hats off to Tom. I have been enjoying the presentations for the past couple of months. I have also learned a lot from Tony Sizemore, who recently presented here. Tony has really helped me to nail down how to "manage by the Greeks."

Hey Tom! Glad to finally be here. I had NO idea you guys were creating this.
In light of the recent SOM "announcement" (and subsequent rescinding of announcement), I think the mass exodus is going to begin. imo, Dan has made a huge mistake, and has further confirmed in my mind that he may be a good educator, but actual trading is another story. Isn't that why we all signed up, to learn how to be good traders?

Anyway, super excited to be a part of this community and share what little knowledge I have accumulated over the years. Nice to see some familiar names here as well.

Sheridan deleted my reply - I posted the web site posting in 2009 offering lifetime trader group access and forum access. Dan called me and continuously reminded me that it was only marketing material and in no way was binding or a contract. He is quite salesman.

Isn't marketing material advertising? I'm not an attorney but that sounds like false or deceptive advertising doesn't it? (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_advertising )

Has anyone had any experience with being a member of the "Option Pit." I tried them for a few months a couple of years back, but about all I learned was how to use LiveVol.

I have never seen proof of Mark Sebastian ever making a profit just once. Ask him why he left the floor of the CBOE and the firm he traded for.

Thanks ....once I see an "expert" as a guest on Jim Cramer's show, I tend to ignore them...he has made multiple appearances on the show (according to his website, I never watch the show).

I happily subscribe to the OptionPit. Mark has a partner named Andrew. The two of them together are very good. The Pit has a strategy letter that they trade in real time, with email updates during the day. the big thing for me is the Pit Report which is about an hour each day at 1:30 PM. Both guys go over live trades and look for new ones. The Pit concentrates alot on volatility and vol products. Mark recently did a free one hour webex on the VIX with a followup 3 hour webex (I think it cost a few bucks for the followup) with some good trade ideas. During the day the Pit also has a skype discussion open so ideas are getting kicked around by a bunch of traders.
Andrew is a super guy. Very smart, polite and considerate. I cannot think of one time that I called him or skyped him a trading question that he did not respond pronto. Really a very decent guy. Mark is a little bit more of an acquired taste, but he is smart as a whip and also very responsive. HE hooked me up with a LiveVol Pro discount that saves me nearly as much as my subscription costs. He also has set up a bunch of people with LiveVolX so that they get the software for free.
I believe that Mark has a JBO now and trades regularly. I am not part of it, so no entitlement to see the trades. In my opinion the Pit is a great deal.

My experience with the Option Pit is about two years old. From your comments, it appears that they are more strucutured now than they were then. When I was a member, many of the live discussions consisted of them coming on and rambling for an hour, but not presenting any specific trades. Have you placed any of their trades, and how did you do ? thanks....

I usually use the trades as fodder for ideas. I generally don't copy their trades, or anyone else's. But, the structure and discussions have usually been pretty informative. There are a few people in the Pit right now that are either semi professional or full time traders that often bring up pretty interesting ideas to discuss. On Fridays there is a chat for about an hour prior to the Pit Report, and then in the PM there is a discussion about trades from the week that have gone wrong or right, as the case might be.
I cannot speak for Mark or Andrew, I am not that involved with them (other than as a client) but my guess is that they will give people access for a few days. Just my guess.

I heard from a friend that the thread in the Sheridan Mentoring forums talking about the $300 administration fee was completely deleted! I don't have a login so can anyone confirm this? If it's true, then it's another case of censorship in the forums there.
